ARE THE SOLAR ROOF TILES RAIN AND WIND RESISTANT?

Yes, every solar roof tile is screwed to the roof construction so that they cannot blow away. The connection with ordinary roof tiles is further supported with tile hooks. The drainage of the solar roof tile was done in the same way as with standard roof tiles. SOLISNO successfully completed all weather and wind tests at KIWA-BDA for Mystiek. This means that this product meets the Dutch building code.

WHAT WARRANTIES DO I HAVE ON THE SOLAR ROOF TILES?

The materials used in SOLINSO Mystique solar panels have been extensively tested and are resistant to weather and wind influences. The glue connection is particularly strong and resistant to UV radiation. If in the first 10 years, material imperfections appear that have caused the solar roof tile to fail, SOLINSO will replace the solar roof tile for a new one free of charge. In the unlikely event of consequential damage, SOLINSO is insured for this so that you do not incur any additional costs.

We guarantee that the Mystiek solar roof tiles in the 25th year will provide at least 80% of the energy generated in the 1st year. If the system is not working properly you can see that using the monitoring app. We can often quickly find out what the underlying cause is.

CAN THE SOLAR ROOF TILES CATCH FIRE?

No, SOLINSO has used materials in the solar roof tiles that make sure that no fire can occur. You do not have to worry during fireworks or thunderstorms. SOLINSO successfully passed all fire tests at KIWA-BDA for the Mystiek solar roof tiles and can also guarantee safety construction and electrical safety by the IEC certification.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MOVE to another home?

The solar roof tiles are a fixed part of the house and are therefore taken over by the new owner, just like a central heating boiler. The energy label of your home has been improved. But the face of your house with sunroof tiles is also an advantage and that has a favorable influence on the sales value of your home.

do I need to CLEAN THE PANELS?

Normally this is not necessary. The solar roof tiles are made so that dirt easily rinses away with rain. The panels are always mounted inclined so that the dirt will drain easily.

WHAT DOES THE 'WP' VALUE ON THE SOLAR PANEL MEAN?

The Wp value is the peak power that a solar panel can produce at full sun power at 25⁰ C. This is a standardized measure which makes it possible to compare solar panels from different manufacturers. In practice, in the northern regions, this peak power rarely occurs, only in the middle of the day when the sun is shining right on the solar panel. In addition, this actually only occurs in May and June. This is because it is often a bit colder than in the summer and because the air can be very clear so that the sun intensity is higher than in summer months.

HOW MUCH ELECTRICITY DO SOLAR PANELS GENERATE?

On average, solar panels produce around 900 kWh per year under good Northern European conditions for every 1000 Wp installed, but this depends on a number of technical factors.

  1. In the first place, that is the efficiency of the panel. This ranges from 130 W / m2 for the cheapest panels to 200 W / m2 for the most efficient panels available on the market. Mystiek solar roof tiles are in the middle with 160-175 W / m2, which means we achieve an excellent price-performance ratio.
  2. Secondly, the orientation of the roof plays an important role. A roof facing south provides the most energy, sometimes over 1000 kWh per 1000 Wp on a yearly basis. The best angle of inclination is between 30 and 45 degrees. A roof facing south-west or south-east provides 10 to 15% less energy per year.
  3. Thirdly, temperature plays a role. A non-ventilated power system will harvest 5 to 10% less energy per year than a well-ventilated system. In full sun, the temperature of a solar panel can easily rise to 60 o At that time, a solar panel supplies only 85% of the peak power measured at 25 o C. Therefore, good ventilation is very important. SOLINSO solar roof tiles are designed in such a way that heat is easily removed. The underlying roof design can also contribute to this.
  4. Shadowing objects can heavily influence return. Solar cells are usually connected in series so that the chain is just as strong as the weakest link. A bit of shadow can influence the entire solar power installation. At an additional cost, electronic solutions are available that reduce the adverse effects of shadow.

It can therefore be stated that forty solar roof tiles of 88 Wp can produce 3200 kWh annually.

ARE SOLINSO SOLAR ROOF TILES LESS EFFICIENT THAN ORDINARY SOLAR PANELS?

No, SOLINSO has designed the solar roof tile so that the generated power is equal to regular solar panels. That is a unique accomplishment that no other manufacturer of solar roof tiles has yet succeeded in. This means that for 40 solar roof tiles of around 88 Wp you will need about 20 m2 of roof surface.

DO SOLAR PANELS INFLUENCE THE ENERGY LABEL OF THE HOUSE?

Yes, solar panels contribute to a better energy label. With the energy label, you can see if your home uses a lot or little energy. Homes with an A-label are the most energy-efficient. The least economical houses will receive a G-label. The energy label also states which energy-saving measures are possible. These include solar panels and LED lamps, but also the isolation of the house. Every house owner has now received a provisional energy label. From 2015, January 1st , due to European regulations, an energy label is mandatory for the sale, new lease and delivery of housing.

HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER THE SOLAR ROOF TILES WORK PROPERLY?

We recommend activating the monitoring function of the inverter after installation. It provides you with all the insights you need related to your solar system. The inverter will be connected to the Wi-Fi data network of the house so that you can see what the solar installation generates through the inverter app from any place in the world and whether it is functioning properly.

DOES THE MYSTIEK SOLAR ROOF TILE FIT ON ANY ROOF?

Yes, especially when a new one is going to be built. Then the choice of the roof tile can be matched to the Mystiek solar roof tile. The best result is achieved when the Mystiek solar roof tile is combined with a flat roof tile.

WHO IS INSTALLING THE SOLAR ROOF TILES?

We are very flexible in this. As a manufacturer we do not only supply Mystiek solar roof tiles, but we also have the knowledge and skills that adapt to the construction and installation industry and can supervise the installation process from A to Z. We can supply a turn-key solar power installation in coöperation with your local carpenter and electrician. We also work with specialised solar installers who take care of the recording, quotation and installation. We set high standards for this coöperation as they have to take responsibility for the waterproofness as well as the energy performance of the system.

HOW LONG DOES AN INSTALLATION PROCESS TAKE?

Completing a roof surface with ordinary roof tiles in combination with Mystiek solar roof tiles is just as fast as any roof surface where only normal roof tiles are being placed. For smaller systems, we may be ready in half a day. In the case of a new construction, the roof will first be made waterproof and a few months later the inverter will be placed and connected to the system. In the case of a house renovation project, the entire installation will take place in a few days (demolition, roof preparation, assembly and installation). During the electrical installation, you have to be at home since we also have to come into the house for the inverter, the cabling, the meter cupboard and the connection to the data network.

HOW WILL THE CABLE BE PULLED FROM THE INVERTER TOT THE FUSE BOX?

The cable route is always determined together with the customer. There are various possibilities. We usually take the most obvious route. Visible cables are neatly concealed. When an empty pipe is available, then it is best to use it so that no cables run through the house. Cables can also be pulled along the outside walls, hidden behind a downspout. Whatever is best for your situation will be determined with you along with the expert.

WHERE IS THE INVERTER PLACED?

The location for the inverter is determined in consultation. The best location for the inverter is in a well-ventilated, or cool place, often in a technical room of the house. The inverter can only be mounted against a solid, perpendicular wall, just like a boiler. The inverter has the size of a small boiler. Because the inverter can, at times, produce a slightly buzzing sound,  sleepingrooms or a private office space in the house are less suitable.
